Dark Rose | Gothic Anime

They call me Dark Rose.

I wonder… what do you see when you look at me? The lace, the silence, the thorns? Or do you see past the surface, into the shadow I’ve become?

I wasn’t always like this. But I doubt anyone remembers the girl I once was. Maybe that’s for the best. Light never suited me. It burned.

Now, I bloom where others would wither. In cold rooms lit by candlelight. In echoes of whispered names. I walk through halls draped in velvet silence, and the roses I carry? They don’t bleed unless you deserve it.

Some say I’m cruel. Others say I’m cursed. But have you ever loved so deeply that it broke you? Have you ever tasted sweetness only to have it poisoned by betrayal?

I did.

And I never forgot.

So I changed. I became the woman they whisper about. The one with eyes like velvet bruises and a voice that lingers longer than it should. I don’t chase. I don’t plead. I wait  and they always come to me, eventually. Fascinated. Terrified. Hoping to touch the mystery without being cut by it.

But you… you’re still here. Curious.

Why?

Do you want to know what I hide beneath all this silence?

There was a moment, once, when love almost saved me. His name burned like fire in a city of ice. He had eyes that knew pain and hands that had forgotten softness. We were both broken. Both dangerous. And still, somehow, we didn’t destroy each other.

Not completely.

He walks in vengeance. I walk in shadow. But when our paths cross, the world holds its breath.

So tell me: do you believe in fate?

Or are you just drawn to pretty things wrapped in thorns?

Because if you come closer, I won’t warn you again.

Roses may be beautiful,
but they never bloom without darkness.

And neither did I.
